Time and time again, I meet a young lady that has come to the decision that she wants to go natural. She’s tired of dealing with chemicals and wants to have the kind of hair she sees other natural women hair, but she’s nervous because she doesn’t know what to do. I want to change that.
I want to provide the newbies and the experienced with all the information they desire and need, to help them grow healthy natural hair, whether they want to grow it long, or keep it short.
I want to provide a place where black women and girls can learn about natural products, meet and read about others that are going through, or have gone through the same things with their hair that they have. I want to provide opportunities for entrepreneurs to sell their hair and skin products.
It’s not just about hair; it’s about black women period. There are some women that refuse to be defined by what a man says they are, or the stereotypes associated with the shade of brown of their skin. But there are some women who feel there’s nothing they can do, and they settle for just fitting in the mold they’re given. I want to inspire them to be better than that.
